A House insurance comes in 2 parts.
The first part is called house owner insurance.
It covers the building.
This includes the walls, roof, floor, stairs, gates and in layman terms things that are stuck to the building such as plaster ceilings, doors and grills.
If you have renovation done to your house, especially the wet work, fixtures and built-ins, the costs can be added on as part of the building sum insured.
The second part is called house holder insurance. It covers the content within the house.
This includes sofas, TV, Fridge, vacuum cleaner, pianos, dining tables, bedroom set and other personal belongings such as clothes, handbags, and accessories.
House Insurance coverage typically includes:
1 fire and lightning
2 Explosion
3 Damages by Aircraft or things fell from above
4 Damages by road vehicles / Animal
5 Damages caused by bursting of water pipe or overflow of water tank
6 Natural disasters such as Windstorm, Earthquake, Volcanic eruption, and Flood
7. Theft and robbery of house content
With additional premium the policy can also include:
